13 New Mommy Must Haves
Being a new mom can be challenging, but here are 13 Mommy Must Haves that I swear by!
Now I know you've probably heard that this knocks people right out but In my opinion I think that may be a little dramatic. The Dr Teal's Sleep Spray is a major part of out nighttime routine because It smells amazing, and it's very calming. I sometimes even add in some Dr. Teal's Sleep Bath for a little razzle dazzle.
12. Dreft
It is highly recommended to wash baby clothes in baby detergent. Dreft is the #1 pediatrician-recommended baby laundry detergent but there are many different baby detergents you can check out to see which one may be best for your baby. I truly enjoy the smell of Dreft & I even add in the Dreft Blissfuls Laundry Scent Booster Beads for a refreshing smell. If your baby's skin is very sensitive I do not recommend any scented detergents or fabric softeners/boosters for your baby.
The Cuddle Up Carrier was extremely beneficial to me because it truly help me accomplish so much while being able to hold my baby. My baby always wanted to be held durning his newborn stage. So when I would be baking or if I needed to video record a client or have a client meeting I would strap up my baby and get to work. I did also have the Baby Wrap Carrier, while I can agree that these are a bit more stylish, I never took the time to learn how to correctly wrap my baby.
We swear by the Aquaphor Healing Ointment in my house. I don't know why but this works sooooo good! My baby's skin was extremely terrible. His eczema would certainly not allow him to be great but this Aquaphor Healing Ointment did it's thing to help the healing process.
9. Baby Lounger
The doctors highly encourage parents not to co-sleep. But should you decide to co-sleep, the Baby Lounger is a safer way to co-sleep. I didn't really use my baby lounger in the bed, but I did find it very useful for his crib because my baby did not seem to be comfortable in his crib until we added the baby lounger.
8. A Nice Robe
With all that's going to be going on putting on clothes will be very last on the list as a new mom. I suggest getting a Nice Robe , especially if you plan to breastfeed your baby.
House shoes were a big thing during my postpartum journey. Although my feet were not swollen or anything I found my house to be a necessity especially in the hospital because I'm not a sock girl. I can't stand socks on my feet.
Let me tell you, these Swaddle Blankets were a life saver because although I watched the nurses and youtube videos a thousand times; I still could not get it. So these Swaddle Blankets are pre swaddles for you and all you have to do is lay you baby down and connect the velcro and voilà.
The XL Hanging Diaper Caddy Organizer was an absolute lifesaver!!! I packed all of our night time essentials such as papers, wipes, creams, swaddles, nose suction, pacifiers (although my baby would't take one), burping cloths, additional onesies, you name it. We certainly felt this was a necessity, I truly appreciated not having to walk half way across the house during the middle of the night to get things for the baby.
Because I had a vaginal delivery, I was unaware I needed this to help bind my abdomen back together. I believe I found out about two weeks into my postpartum journey that the Postpartum Belly Wrap was needed. I have been told that if you have a C-section you're given one at the hospital.
Now, the Yoofoss Diaper Bag Backpack is the goat! This diaper bag comes with a portable crib for changing (talk about game changer), a USB charging port, insulated bottle pockets & so many compartments for your many baby necessities. I truly enjoy the portable crib for changing because it made it easier for my husband to change our son at outings because most men's restrooms are not equipped with changing stations and it makes life a lot less stressful in public.
Now I've heard many people say the Ubbi Steel Odor Locking Diaper Pail also known as the diaper genie is not is a waste of money. But let me tell you something, I have TWO; One in our bedroom & one in the baby's room. It is so convenient to have an odor locking pail 2 feet away from you. I'm not lazy but I certainly wouldn't want to walk to the kitchen and have to double wrap the poopie diapers in a grocery bag before throwing it in our trashcan especially not in the middle of the night. I am all about convenience especially as a new mom.
My baby use to go to war with me when it was time to get the boogers out of his nose, but the Electric Nasal Aspirator for Baby saved my life! Man this thing will do all the hard work for you in a mater of seconds. Now that he's a bit older I enjoy using the FridaBaby 3-in-1 Nose, Nail + Ear Picker since he is not as feisty with me.
Being a new mom is certainly a challenge but having the essentials can make muvahood a breeze. If you have some mommy must have you'd like to share please leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you!
